We are weeks away from the opening of The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Exhibit. I am so beyond myself with excitement. This will be an event to remember for decades to come.
The catalog accompanying the exhibit is photographed by Solve Sundsbo and believe it or not, you are not looking at mannequins above; Sundsbo worked with four real life models. They used an alabaster acrylic paint and photoshop to achieve the finished effect. This approach exemplifies McQueen's creativity and ambitious desire to blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality.
These images are spectacular, I will definitely be purchasing my copy of the catalog. It will retail for $45.
